Rack and multi-press

Rack
A rack, also known as a power rack or squat rack, is a piece of equipment that provides a stable and safe platform for training with free weights. It consists of vertical columns or bars connected to horizontal beams. A rack provides multiple levels or height positions on which a barbell rack can be placed to perform exercises such as squats, bench presses, or deadlifts.
A rack provides safety to the user by having safety trays that act as a catch-all in the event that the barbell rack becomes impossible to hold during a workout. It also allows for freer movement and training with free weights, as opposed to machines with predetermined movement paths. A rack is extremely versatile and offers a wide range of exercise options for total body training.

The Jordan Olympic Power Rack Pro (JTPR) - the ultimate all-body rack with more workspace than comparable power racks. With the SPR500 and SPR1000 Commercial Rack from the Body Solid Pro Club Line, Shark Fitness' professional equipment division offers racks that provide a variety of options such as dip stations, storage compartments for medicine balls and kettlebells, rebounder station, multi-grips for pull-ups and more for an expanded training spectrum.

Multipress
A multipress, also known as a Smith machine, is a piece of equipment with a fixed vertical bar or guide rail along which the dumbbell bar is guided. Unlike free weights or a rack, where movement is possible in all directions, the barbell bar on a multi-press travels along a fixed path. This provides the user with stability and limited freedom of movement.

A multi-press may be equipped with safety stops or safety catches to reduce the risk of injury. It is often used for exercises such as bench press, shoulder press or squats. The multi-press is especially suitable for beginners or people who need assistance in performing the exercise.
