Recumbent ergometers combine a semi-recumbent training position with a particularly back-friendly and comfortably positioned cardio workout. Thigh and gluteal muscles are more strongly stressed than with conventional exercise bikes. A low entry enables easy entry and exit.

The difference to conventional ergometers

While a conventional ergometer simulates the classic position you assume on a road bike, the sitting position on a recumbent ergometer is particularly comfortable. The semi-recumbent position offers just as effective a workout as on conventional exercise bikes.

Rehabilitation or training without restrictions

Recumbent ergometers originally come from the rehabilitation sector and are preferred there for problems of the lumbar spine in order to provide a comfortable workout in combination with a high backrest. Due to the generous seat area, semi-recumbent ergometers are also particularly suitable for overweight users. Recumbent ergometers with low access offer special advantages for users who have problems getting onto conventional ergometers due to injury or age-related limitations.
