Speed Training (Sprint Training):
Speed training refers to the specific training to improve speed and sprint performance. It focuses on developing speed strength, explosiveness and running technique. Sprint training includes exercises such as sprints at various distances, running technique drills, plyometrics (jumping strength training), resistance and acceleration work. It is often used by athletes in sports such as track and field, soccer, basketball, and many others where speed plays an important role.

Functional Training:
Functional training refers to a training concept that involves performing movements and exercises that mimic everyday or sport-specific movement patterns. The goal is to improve functional strength, stability, coordination, flexibility, and daily living skills. Training focuses on exercising the body as a whole rather than working individual muscles in isolation. Exercises in functional training include complex movements such as squats, deadlifts, lunges, kettlebell swings, rope pulls, rotations and balance exercises. It can be used by people of all fitness levels, athletes and everyday people alike to improve their physical performance and quality of movement

Both training approaches have different focuses, but can also be combined. For example, Speed Training can be integrated as part of Functional Training to improve performance in specific sports or everyday movements.
